Poor quality soil, tree roots and a build over agreement

We installed the ground screws and TimberSlab for this large extension and decked area in Sussex. The extension included a large living area, kitchen and dinning area. Unfortunately, the clients were facing numerous issues and were struggling to find a viable foundation system.

We had been called in as the client had come up against several issues and traditional foundations were not a viable option: Issues included soil quality, tree roots and concerns about maintenance access from the local water board.

  • Nearby tree roots which needed to be considered and worked around.

  • Difficult clay soil which required deep foundations and/ or piles

  • The clients were facing a shared build over agreement with the local waterboard.

We were able to offer them the technical advice and expertise, collaborating with the relevant authorities on these issues and help them get their build off the ground.

Our sister businesses BearHaus and Cub Kitchens finished the build, creating this beautiful sepele clad extension with bespoke kitchen and joinery.

We hope you like this project and if you are experiencing similar issues please get in touch.
